We at #Tech4Good help nonprofits use technology confidently to reach more beneficiaries in a meaningful way & become more sustainable.
Opportunity: Technology can be a strategic lever and enabler for NGOs to
Measure impact of their work, learn from the data and improve their program effectiveness
Deliver meaningful impact at scale so their programs can reach more beneficiaries and serve them effectively
Fundraise smartly by diversifying funding sources & improving donor journey
Efficiently and effortlessly manage their day to day operations.
The challenge for NGOs:
Lack of Knowledge - NGOs not confident about how to use technology to simplify their processes and amplify their impact. Eg: Free/discounted world class products available to NGOs but they are are not aware of it and dont know how to leverage it for their mission. Many NGOs are not aware of platforms like Instamojo, GiveIndia, Razorpay to set up their online one time and recurring donations.
Lack of Capacity - No IT Budget & Internal Capacity and No structured support, mentoring
Eg: Small & growing NGOs have no budget, capacity to hire IT staff. In NGOs with IT staff - they are under-utilized with no learning platforms, peer networks and mentoring/support from outside to build their capacity.
There exists a clear need to leverage technology and an opportunity of great quality free/discounted softwares, motivated IT Staff, ambitious NGO leaders, software donors, techies who are passionate about social good, Vendors, etc.
But there is need for an open, free, collaborative learning platform to build knowledge and capacity in the NGO ecosystem by leveraging these stakeholders. We at Tech4Good are building this platform.
